Meet the Head Coach - Nathan Williams

Picture
I learned to row at Shrewsbury School and went on to row for: Queens University Belfast, Belfast rowing Club and then Leander club. I started coaching at eighteen when I sustained a serious injury. I have been fortunate to coach at St Edwards School and Shrewsbury School. I have coached everything from J15 boys to the school's 1st VIII. I have also been the Head Coach for the Women at the University of London boat club and a high-performance coach for GB U23 and senior women.

Today I live at Downe House School, where my wife teaches and is an Assistant House Mistress and I am back working at St Edwards School in Oxford.

I am very much enjoying working with BNCBC. It is a privilege to work somewhere with so much history but also exciting to work for a club with a real desire and plan for future success and growth. I’d love to see both 1st VIIIs back where they belong in the first divisions but also for as many novices as possible to try and take up the sport.  Rowing at Brasenose is such a fantastic way for students to get into the sport.

There is a great atmosphere, lots of history and the desire to row hard and have a lot of fun doing it. We have plenty of racing at home in Oxford but also travel further afield for a different racing experience.
